Mike Wilson learned to develop film and prints on his own at an early age. Combining his love of music, photography, and film he became an official photographer for the Oracle while attending University of South Florida. Wilson covered all things sports, breaking news, and entertainment but it was music that he was most passionate about. Wanting to expand his skills, Wilson linked up with Tampa based online and print newspaper, Creative Loafing, the second largest alternative newspaper chain in the U.S. where he photographed and covered Bonnaroo, SXSW, Lollapalooza, Deluna Festival, and Harvest of Hope. During this time, Wilson photographed artists such as Underoath, My Morning Jacket, The Flaming Lips, Blink 182, and more. Taking his talents on the road, Wilson paired up with good friends Cartel to become their official tour manager, photographer, and merch manager working on the New Found Glory Sticks and Stones tour and Glamour Kills fall tour with Mayday Parade. In between tours, Wilson (while living in LA), worked as the set photographer for Jake Troth on his upcoming music videos for album Double Black Diamond and worked on set for Panic! at The Disco’s “This is Gospel” music video. Today, Wilson is a contributing photographer for online music publications New Noise Magazine and Under The Gun Review. For more information, visit http://mikewilsonphotos.22slides.com.
